We’re celebrating Christmas in July for the Double Trouble Challenge (#89). Thing 1 says if you would like to play along all you have to do is make any Christmas themed card. The optional twist from Thing 3 is to add a ribbon or bow, twine, cord, etc. Finally, we are partnering with Heart 2 Heart Challenge this time, so you can also link up there. This is a really fun challenge, and on top of that there is a prize given away each time, so head on over to the blog and check it out!
The QUICK and SIMPLE details: Background was made by “smooshing” some Distress Oxide inks, I then stamped a music not background on it. The stamps are from Tim Holtz, and after stamping them I trimmed them by tearing the paper, then colored them, and finally distressed the edges. I added some ribbon under the images and finished it off with some glittery stars to give it a little more of a vintage feel.
SNEAK PEEK: Make sure you check back at the Double Trouble Challenge blog on August 1st for CLEO’s Xtra Random Draw Prize celebrating International Cat Day for Double Trouble Challenge #90!

Great card, Melanie! I especially like the distressed look – perfect for this type of image. Nicely “smooshed” background, too.
Gorgeous ink smooshed background, and the placement of the ribbon behind each image is so clever, at first glance I thought you’d used a die to create 4 panels. Fantastic vintage charm on this design.
This is beautifully vintage. Love the background. Thanks so much for playing along with us at the HLS die challenge!
whoops! My comment above should read Christmas challenge. 🙂
Love that background – and those images with the measurements are timeless. Beautiful card 🙂
Great smudged and stamped music background for your vintage torn and distressed images and the wrapped around ribbon is perfect… very pretty vintage card.
