Hello, and welcome to my post for the new challenge at Cardz 4 Guys (#268). This time we have a theme of “Use something new.” For this challenge I decided to make a bookmark instead of a card, so just a reminder that any papercraft project is acceptable, as long as it follows the theme and is appropriate for a guy!
Since this challenge asked for using something new I was finally motivated to try the laminator I got about two years ago! I fisrt stamped the images in a column with Distress Oxide Ink. Since that ink stays wet a little longer than normal dye ink I covered them with clear powder and heat embossed them to add a little shine. I cut them out with a die cut that is really meant for a slimline card, then sponged the edges with a little brown ink. Next I put the bookmark in a laminating pocket and ran it through the machine. After I trimmed it I finished it off with a ribbon on top.
I would like to enter these additional challenges:
NBUS (Never Been Used Stuff) #25 – anything goes
Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers #182 – D is for Distress
Word Art Wednesday #485/486 – anything goes
Mix It Up #48 – anything goes
I love the vintage look of this. Love Dawn x
