Make it Pop! Birthday Card

Today I went through some of the patterned papers I had in my “bits and pieces” drawer trying to get rid of what has been there way too long. Instead of getting rid of all of it I ended up using some to make some bright colored balloons for a friends birthday card, which was inspired by a few different challenges (of course!)

Snippets Playground #455 – anything goes using snippets

As You Like It Challenge– which do you prefer, pastels or bright colors? – I am usually drawn to bright colors, especially when I color or do stenciling. Pastels are pretty but I think something bright is more eye catching!

The challenge at Cardz 4 Galz #200 was looking for a slimline birthday card so I went with that size, and the topping at Seize the Birthday #262 was “Make it Pop!” I think there are several different ways you could interpret that, but balloons is what came to my mind.

I used a punch from Stampin’ Up, drew the strings myself, and used a die cut/shadow for the sentiment. I finished it off with some matching enamel stars. Below you can see the inside.

EXCITING NEWS!!!! There’s a new challenge starting on July 7th, where I will be on the design team, called “Simply Clean and Simple” featuring only CAS card designs. Hope you will check it out! (click the image below)
