Double Trouble #188

The new 3 -2-1 recipe challenge at Double Trouble starts today, and here is the recipe:

3-2-1- Recipe “April Showers” Your card or project must include: 3 Colors of the Rainbow – 2 Die-Cuts, Ephemera or Punches and – 1 Create a Scene.

The optional twist is add anything that has to do with April showers (products that represent water, i.e., Ink, Liquid Glass, Wink of Stella, Glossy Accents, Gems, Droplets, or umbrellas, rainboots, cloudy skies, puddles, rainbows, etc.)

Of course we also have the ongoing challenge to play along with the sketch from our sister challenge, Try a Sketch on Tuesday. Visit their blog for the sketch and all the details!

My recipe: 3 colors of the rainbow (blue, yellow, green), 2 die cuts (clouds and deckled rectangle) and 1 rainy day scene.

The Quick and Simple Details:

  • Background created by smooshing water color paper in wet ink
  • Added raindrop stamps and colored in with glitter pen
  • Images from Sunny Studio Stamps (have had this set for many years!)
  • Colored with Copic markers and fussy cut

  1. Adorable scene you have created here. Your bear is so cute. And I love the yellow raincoat and welliea. Thanks for joining us at Retro Rubber this time. Claire RR DT x

  2. The adorable pup in its rain gear steals the show! The vibrant yellow raincoat and boots are perfectly set against the rainy-day scene, and the glittery raindrops add just the right touch of sparkle to bring the whole design together beautifully.

  3. Great use of you water-colored background! The image in yellow is perfect! Thank you for playing along with us at Retro Rubber!

  4. How cute, Melanie! I love the adorable pup in the yellow slicker – so cute with the duckling, too. Receiving this sweet card would surely make my day brighter on a rainy day.
