Send a Smile 4 Kids – Winter

Hello! I have a card to share today that is for the new challenge starting at the Send A Smile 4 Kids Challenge. This is a wonderful monthly challenge that encourages participants to donate hand made cards that are distributed for children who are spending time in the hospital. If you would like to read more about what they do check out the details here.

This month the challenge is to create a kid’s winter themed card, but you are also free to link up any kid-appropriate card. Be sure to check out the challenge blog for some great ideas and inspiration from the rest of the design team!

The Quick and Simple Details:

  • Images from My Favorite Things, colored with Copic markers and fussy cut
  • Used glittery embossing paste for snowflakes on the background
  • Tore paper for the snowbanks and added glitter along the edges
  • Added glossy accents over water to give look of shiny ice

  2. Oh, Melanie…. You might be calling these “Quick and Simple Details” but all of these details add so much texture and dimension to your card. Sooooo Much! May I ask which company makes that embossing folder? Love the size and variety of those snowflakes. Appreciate you more than you could possibly know. Wishing you and your loved ones a blessed holiday season.
