The new challenge starting today at the Alphabet Challenge is featuring the letter “S.” The theme chosen was “Stars.” Head on over to the challenge blog for all the details, dates, and to check out the rest of the design team’s ideas!
The set of stars I used is from Hero Arts, which I heat embossed with white powder to get nice and shiny images. I did this on mixed media paper so that I could add color by the “smooshing” technique, where the ink would resist the outlines. I used three colors of distress oxide inks sprayed with some water. Before mounting the card on the base I used a paper distressing tool to rough up the edges. The sentiment was from the same set and also heat embossed with white powder on some vellum.
