Our theme for the new challenge starting today at Cardz 4 Guys (#330) is “poppies/remembrance.” Remembrance Day is not until November 11, as is Veteran’s Day here in the US, and the poppy is the symbol of remembrance for those who died in war.
I wanted to try to keep my card as masculine as possible, so went with a poppy stamp, but instead of coloring it I used a splatter stamp to add spots of red. The gray square was made with a reverse stencil and a blending brush. The sentiment was from a set from Impression Obsession that I have had in my stash for years, but always a go-to for patriotic cards.

So beautiful Melanie!
I love that verse stamp!! I am gonna have to see if it is still available. I love the smokey look to your card with the sponged square and splattering!! Way to go…your rocked this challenge to create a masculine poppies card. A true challenge but you did indeed offer fantastic inspiration for doing just that…an inspiration for those who decide to play along with our new challenge!! #C4G330 Poppies//Remembrance
