Several challenges inspired this card, plus I needed to use some new products that I recently bought!
Joining in the challenge at As You See It (#300) where they are celebrating their 300th challenge! The theme is “adventure.” I have not used this set from Newton’s Nook before and thought the sentiment went well with the theme.
The challenge at Timeout (#240) also caught my attention, where they have a challenge featuring the word “sportive.” This was a new word to me, below you can see the definition and how I thought it went well with Newton riding his scooter as he is out on his adventure!
Finally, I based my design on the challenge at Addicted to CAS (#239) where the code word this time is “one layer.” One layer cards can seem kind of limiting, but I bought a set of stamps with different grounds/floors and hadn’t used them yet (from the Ink Blot Shop). These make it seem a lot easier to stick with one layer while creating a whole scene.
Wow, such a cute one-layer, Melanie! Love your strategy for the design – great idea to have different “floors” handy for getting started! Very sweet coloring, too! Thanks so much for playing at As You See It!
Love this Melanie – he’s just adorable on his scooter! Great interpretation of our Adventure theme at As You See It! Thanks for playing along with us
Melanie your one layer design is a triumph! I love the grassy detail of your cobbled path and your scooter-riding kitty looks ready for adventure for sure. Thanks for sharing with us over at As You See It this week for our 300th challenge!
Melanie, you did such a great job on your one layer card, I didn’t notice it was one layer until you mentioned it! Your colouring and shading added great depth to it! Thanks for joining us for our 300th challenge at As You See It Challenges.
The sentiment does go beautifully with the image – and our adventure theme. It’s easy to forget that life is an adventure in itself. Your colouring is beautiful. The shape of the card is lovely and your one-layer is awesome! So hard to get a one-layer card looking so fabulous. Thanks for joining in with us for our 300th challenge at As You See It.
This is spectacular! I love clean and simple and a one layer! I found this eye catching because of the curve at the top and the stone road on the bottom. I need to get those stamps because one layers can be intimidating! Beautifully done! Thanks for joining us for our 300th at As You See It!
This is a wonderful card, Melanie. Perfect for our challenge and the others you included as well. I love this image, but my favorite thing is the detail of the grass growing between the bricks. Thanks so much for sharing this great make at Time Out!
Oh, I love the little scene you created – and beautifully colored, too. So glad you shared this with us at ATCAS this week
