Today’s new challenge over at Cardz 4 Guys (#323) has a theme of using “Lots of Layers” (at least three) on your card or project. You can use any theme, just be sure to build up the layers on your card!
I started with using some embossing paste with a stencil to create the heart background, and while wet sprinkled with some distress embossing powder (which is transluscent) and heated. This creates a shiny finish and only partially covers the white.
I used a very old stamp (one of the first dog stamps I ever got – at least 9 or 10 years ago – which looks just like my senior dog Pepper!) and then used the same stamp to make the collar, cut it out and pieced it on the full image. To build up the layers I added an additional matte before adhering it to the card base. I finally created a Happy Father’s Day sentiment to finish off my card.
