The challenge starting today over at the Alphabet Challenge is featuring the letter “D.” The chosen theme is “dragonflies,” so anything that inspires you relating to dragonflies is what we are looking for. There’s some great inspiration from the rest of the design team so hope you will go take a look!
I’ll start by telling you about the background of my card. The panel was actually in my “bits and pieces” drawer, an alcohol ink creation from quite a while ago. What I did to give it a new look was run it through the die cut machine with a 3-D folder, and then sanded it along the raised lines. You can see the way it really adds some highlights and dimension to the card.
Since I used some gold mixative with the alcohol ink I decided to make the dragonfly and sentiment gold. The frame was chosen to allow for more of the background to show but to also make the dragonfly the focal point.
