It’s Festive Friday! We have a new challenge starting today, and this time our festivity is “The Chinese New Year.” We used that to come up with ten items for our Inspo List, and if you would like to join the challenge just choose any 3 (or more) of those items to use on your card or project. Whether or not you follow the theme of the festivity is totally up to you!
This was a festivity that took me a bit of thinking about before I came up with an idea (which ended up changing several times once I got started!) I finally used just a simple image, but created the fan in the background to set it off and give more of a Chinese feel to my card. The items from the Inspo List I used were red, gold, lantern, New Year’s Sentiment, and orchid.
The stamp set came from Cardmaking & Papercraft magazine from the UK. I colored the image, added the sentiment and then die cut it. The fan was just a rectangular piece of light weight paper. I used an embossing pen to add lines across the top, heat embossed with gold powder, then scored every 1/4″. After folding it like an accordion I closed the bottom with some twine, and attached it to the base with some double sided tape. To complete my card I added some gold shimmer pen to the flowers and lantern.
Fabulous!
Wow!!!. I love that fan! and the whole card. Well Done
