Time for the first challenge of the year over at the Paper Funday Challenges!! This is always an “anything goes” challenge, however, there is always an optional twist you can join in as well. This month the optional theme is “starry night.” The challenge will be open through January 29th.
My card features an image that is from one of our sponsors this month, Fred She Said Designs. I chose “Christmas Corgi.” I guess since this was back in early-December my mind wasn’t thinking it was for the challenge starting in January, so I had to do a little improvising to make this adorable Christmas Corgi into a New Year’s Corgi!
I stenciled the ink blended background with one stencil over the lime green and turquoise blue (one of my favorite color combinations!), then used another stencil to add the starburst behind the dog. That was done with translucent embossing paste, which in real life has a bit more shine to it. I also added the “Cheers” and “Celebrate” stamps to the background before die cutting it with a dotted-edged rectangle. The dog was colored with Copic markers and the “Happy New Year” was heat embossed.
