We are starting a new challenge over at Cardz 4 Guys (#297) and the theme for the next two weeks is “On the Water.”
Usinig a stencil and embossing paste I created the wavy background. While the paste was still wet I added some very fine glitter, which does not show up in the photo, but in real life does have a very nice effect (trust me!). The whale image is from Taylored Expressions, colored with Copic markers. I die cut the blue panel but didn’t like it on the rectangular base, so I decided to chop off the corners. I thought it turned out nice and a fun and easy way to change up the shape of a card!
Additional challenges:
Fab ‘n’ Funky #552 – anything but a square
Daring Cardmakers – “Flair not square” – card that isn’t a square
My Time to Craft #482 – Thank you
Creative Knockouts #454 – for the kids
Our “on the water” challenge over at Cardz 4 Guyz was a fun one and you rocked it!! Whale of love here…Darling!! Great inspiration for those who decided to play along with us.
Melanie: THANKS for linking a 2nd entry to MTTC’s appreciation theme challenge!!! This one is a great idea. I thought the wavy background was embossed. Using a stencil and paste provides some neat texture when looking closely…just like that glitter you mentioned. Terrific ocean/nautical look! –Becca/DT/MTTC
A very original shape. I love the texture you’ve created on the background. And those whales are super cute. Thanks for joining us at My Time To Craft. Hugs, María.
Love how the embossing paste looks like curly waves. This is fabulous. Love Dawn x
Just fabulous! Great shape, love the embossed background and the cute whales! Thanks for joining in with our ‘anything but square’ challenge at Fab’n’ Funky.
