It’s the 5th Monday of the month which means we have an extra challenge for the week at Double Trouble! For these challenges we call it a “Something, Anything, Everything” challenge – which means you can enter whatever you want! There is an optional challenge by Thing 3 which is asking for something repeated on your card or project. Finally, if you would like to take on the Double Dare by Thing 2 just link up with any of our past partners.
The photo above summarizes everything for you, but for all the details, random draw guidelines, past partners, and some more inspiration from the rest of the design team head on over to the Double Trouble Challenge Blog.
I loved the colors of the striped paper I came across in my stash when trying to get a plan in mind for my card. I went with a birthday theme and used a set that was from the April 2021 Spellbinders Small Stamp of the Month Club (just a bit over a year old, so decided to partner with Retro Rubber #183, which is an “anything goes” challenge this time). The repeated candles met the challenge of Thing 3, so I colored them to match the paper, embossed a card base with a dotted folder, cut them out with the coordinating dies, and finished it off with the sentiment.
Additional challenges:
Passion For Markers #642 – 13th Anniversary – stripes and/or dots
Crafter’s Cafe #285 – spots and/or stripes
Retro Rubber #183 – anything goes w/stamp older than a year
Brilliant card! Thank you for playing along with us over at PFM this week.
Love n hugs
Marie
The candles are a great repeating element and I love the colour scheme 🙂
Wow, what a fun card! Love all those little candles, and what a cool curve element! Your coloring details really make this, too! Thanks so much for playing at Retro Rubber!
Be card and thanks for sharing at Passion for Markers
Love the design of your card and paper combinations and great that you were able to combine previous partners… love the repeat of the candles, candles on my cake you may need a few more rows… lol.
Melanie, absolutely love your card! Stamping the repeating candles, then coloring them to match your pattern paper is brilliant!! The embossed dots add so much to love about your card. I’m betting our Double Trouble followers will find lots of inspiration in your card!!! -Donna
Those repeating candles are so cute, Melanie! I absolutely love this color combo too. A perfect clean and simple card for this challenge 🙂
