It’s Monday and the start of a new challenge at Double Trouble (#106). This time around our focus is on “Less Is More” – making clean and simple cards (CAS). There’s not any set rules, but generally a clean and simple card has lots of white/open space, minimal layers and embellishements, and one main focal point.
If you would like to join in this challenge, the only thing required is by Thing 1, and that is to create a card that is CAS.
The optional challenge by Thing 3 is to use only one color (or only shades of one color) on your CAS card other than black.
Finally, Thing 2 Double Dares you to join in our partner challenge. If you did both the requirements of Thing 1 and Thing 2 then you are qualified to join in our partners challenge at Use Your Stuff . They are looking for entries that use black and only one other color.
The image I used is from Rubbernecker Stamps, and after stamping it on my background I made a mask for each of the chicks. I then did some light stenciling over them. I colored them in shades of yellow, but also made a second card using different colors for the chicks.
I would like to join in these additional challenges:
AAA Cards Challenge #211 – CAS using a spring animal
Shopping Our Stash #466 – Spread your wings
Try it on Tuesday- Black/White + one color
Sweet Stampin’ – KISS! (keep it simple, stupid!)
Totally cute! Love the chicks and the stencilling, it’s a perfect entry for our challenge at Sweet Stampin’- thanks for joining us.

Love the wonky stitched frame and your stencil coloring in the background. Thanks for sharing two similar CAS cards, both as cute as the other, in one with just a pop of color and the other in multi colors. Adorable.
Gorgeous! I love the subtle ways like the stenciling and the fancy edges on your die cut, to add extra interest to your CAS card. Thanks for playing with us at Use Your Stuff.
