Hello and Happy Festive Friday! Today our new challenge is starting and we are featuring World Planting Day. At Festive Friday our challenges are inspired by different festivities, which we use to come up with 10 items for our Inspo List. However, if you would like to join in all you need to do is choose at least 3 of the items to use on your card or project, whether you choose to follow the festivity or not is up to you!
Once again my card was the result of using some things from my “bits and pieces” basket. I tend to make a lot of things that either don’t work in my original plan, or I make extras, so if I think I might be able to use it someday I put it in the basket. (After a while some things do still end up in the trash!)
I checked out the Inspo list and went with flowers/plants, green, and wellington boots. The background was left over from an alcohol ink technique I tried a while ago and the white die cut was already cut. I used the umbrella and boot stamps from a Stampin’ Up set, and the flowers are from a Stampin’ Up punch. I played around with all of it a while before ending up with my final card. Sometimes I have a very good idea of what I want to do when I start a card, sometimes I have no idea! I guess that’s the fun of this hobby – either way works in the end!

Melanie Hungerford ——You are here!
Another great background! Your bits and pieces basket is a treasure chest full of amazing pieces. Love your card and it is so perfect for the challenge.
Melanie this is such a great card. I love how you used our Bits and Pieces. You are a better person than I. I just give those peices away to a youth group
This is so lovely, Mel. I love to use snippets and you have composed this card beautifully with some of yours. Love the background and that wonderful white die cut as the stage for your boots and umbrellas and flowers. A wonderful combination of elements. I love it.
The bright yellow rainboots with the umbrellas popping out of them make me smile along with those itty bitty flowers sprinkled around I’d say spring is here! Cute card!
Love the background detail and circular diecut to shape and enhance your collection of snippets Melanie – what a great way to use them up, and that always feels good! Such a fresh and pretty card.
Melanie, I love how you clustered all these elements around in a circle. The circle adds wonderful texture as well as creating the perfect backdrop. The little umbrellas are the perfect finishing touch. Fabulous card.
