Hello! I have a couple of cards to share today. I saw the colors at CAS Colours & Sketches and since that is one of my favorite combinations I wanted to join the challenge. I have put these colors together many times before for leaves, sunsets, and flowers, but today I tried something a little different. I used a square stencil to create the backgrounds and was also inspired by the challenge at Modsquad Challenges, where they are asking for vellum flowers.
I made the first card but then thought the basic idea would also work well for the challenge over at Tuesday Morning Sketches. The small flower was in my “random stamp drawer” and has a mark on it that says “art after dark-1999” which I have never heard of before. The big flower is from a Stampin’ Up set, and I was amazed at how similar they looked! Both were heat embossed with white on vellum and then fussy cut.
I would like to join in these additional challenges:
Cardz 4 Gals #150 – get inky
Happy Little Stampers July Stencil Challenge – anything goes with a stencil
The House That Stamps Built #J721 – stenciling
Country View Challenges – use a stencil (or 2)
How adorable!! I LOVE these, the simplicity of both the flowers and color blocks is simply fabulous. Great take on the challenge, thanks so much for playing along with us over at The Mod Squad.
