It’s time for the new challenge at Make the Cards (#13). This time we have a color challenge – “candy coated” (you can see the colors below). It’s also the start of a new challenge at Double Trouble (#82), where the challenge by Thing 1 is to include FLOWERS on your card. However – if you also follow the option of Thing 3, which is to play along with the color challenge – you qualify to enter enter BOTH challenges! Of course you may choose to make a unique card for each challenge too – it’s up to you!
To create my card I used a stamp set from a Simon Says Stamp Card Kit (Sept. 2019) called “Look for the Rainbow.” I stamped with waterproof ink on mixed media paper, and then used a paintbrush and ink to water color the flowers. When they were dried I fussy cut them out. The background of my card was made with embossing paste that I colored with a little pink ink, then stenciled on some cardstock. I did a little splattering on the background and the flowers. I tied a piece of linen thread around the stenciled piece, then arranged and adhered the flowers. Finally I added a few pearls and the sentiment.
Both of these challenges will run for two weeks, so there is a lot of time for creating something to share! We’d love to see your card or project in our galleries.
Joining in these additional challenges:
Retro Rubber #156 – pastel colors
The Flower Challenge #55 – pastel colors
Sweet Stampers #55 – lots of layers
Crafter’s Cafe #264 – flowers
