Today’s card is for the challenge starting at CAS Colours & Sketches, where I am excited to be the guest designer for the month of April. This week starts challenge #415, which is a sketch challenge.
I started out with the idea of a fish in a fishbowl, but as you can see it somehow evolved to a mouse with a slice of cheese! I first stamped the mouse where I wanted it, then used some masking fluid to cover it up. Once that was dry I used a large circle stencil with a blending brush to make the big circle, and then another stencil over the first to add the small circles.
Next I removed the masking fluid and colored the mouse with Copic markers. Finally I lined up the card in the Misti to add the sentiment (much better chance of not messing anything up than trying it without the Misti!)
I would like to play along in these additional challenges:
Unicorn Challenge #64 – include an animal
Happy Little Stampers Stencil Challenge – anything goes w/stenciling
Just Us Girls #579 – use more than one stencil
Adorable Melanie – what a sweet mouse with his round cheese! A great take on this week’s sketch.
Fabulous work on the cheese! I honestly thought it was a piece of patterned paper. Very sweet card. Thanks again for hanging with us the month.
We are so lucky to have you guesting with us this month Melanie! Your cards are always wonderful and this one is no exception! I love the cheese-look circle and your little mouse is adorable! I’m intrigued that you use masking fluid to mask your mouse too 🙂 Vicky x
