Welcome and thank you for visiting today! Butterflies seem to be popular right now, so when I saw the sketch for today’s new challenge at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge (#412) that’s what I decided to use. This challenge is weekly, so if you would like to give this sketch a try you can link up your creation until Sunday, 3/21.
I started my card by choosing my colors from the challenge at the Paper Players (#532) this week. The design of the sketch seemed to be the perfect way to use 3 main colors. I dry embossed the blue and green pieces and brushed on just a little gold Nuvo shimmer mousse and joined the two pieces with some ribbon. I heat embossed the butterfly on purple cardstock with gold, and carefully cut it out (had to do it twice because the first time I cut off one of the anteneas- oops!)
I would also like to join the challenges at Modsquad – theme of “beautiful butterflies” and at Day of the Month Card Club #25 – Learn about butterflies.
Melanie, this is so pretty! I love the embossed background and your beautiful gold embossing on the butterfly! So happy you joined us at The Paper Players this week!
This is just beautiful. The embossed background is the perfect backdrop for that gorgeous gold embossed butterfly. Great take on the challenge, thank you so much for participating with us over at the Mod Squad!!

What a beautiful and noble butterfly and on the embossed background it comes into its own! Glad you joined us at DotMCC. Gundi
Great card, so many of us chose butterflies as a stand in for the bow! Love the gold accent!
A stunning butterfly Melanie and I love that you used two types of embossing to great effect. Thanks for playing along with my colour challenge over at The Paper Players this week!
