Today’s challenge at Festive Friday (#FF0076) is in recognition of the Chinese New Year, which is being celebrated February 12. Our Inspo List consists of 10 items that were inspired by this festivity, and to participate in the challenge all we require is that you incorporate any 3 (or more) of the items from the list into your creation. Whether it reflects the Chinese New Year (or not!) is totally up to you.
My card ended up being kind of simple. I used some matte gold card stock for the lanterns and the background. The red piece was die cut, but then I added the texture with an die cut plate. The symbols down the side are from a stamp that I heat embossed with clear powder. That is a great way to add some shine and a little texture.

This is gorgeous, Melanie. I love those lantern die cuts and how fabulous they look on that dotted swirly background! Clean and classy make for Lunar New Year!
Love the beautiful lanterns on the swirled stitched background. The clear embossing of the characters on the black cardstock is a great look and a smart way to add some extra shine.
Hi Melanie! This is such beautiful and clean New Year Card! I love the simple graphic quality and the soft textures from the debossing plate and the heat embossing – really nice work! Take care!
