I made this card as my team contribution for the November challenge at Stinkin’ Inkers Challenge Blog. The theme for this month is “Quilting.” You can interpret that any way you want, whether it be in the image, the design, the pattern, or whatever else you may think of! You have until the end of the month to link up a project.
I used an older square punch from Stampin’ Up to cut out my pieces using several different papers. I embossed the solid colors with a snowflake folder in order to add some more texture. The edges of these squares are like a postage stamp, so when lined up right next to each other it kind resembles stitching. The sentiment and mittens were heat embossed in silver, the mittens stamp was one of the first stamps I got when I started this hobby about 8 years ago! I finished it off with some iridescent twine to hang the mittens on.
I would like to join in the following challenges:
Retro Rubber #147 – Anything Goes
Try it on Tuesday – use embossing on your card (I used dry and heat embossing)
Sparkles Christmas Challenge #118 – Use Gold or Silver or Glitter
Very fun, Melanie! Love that patchwork look, and such fun mittens! Yay for the silver cord, too! Thanks so much for playing at Sparkles!
Beautiful. I do like the patchwork background and those charming mittens. Thanks for sharing with us at try It on Tuesday. Hugs-Erika
Hello Melanie: I love, love the quilt look on your card and the beautiful pattern papers plus embossing.
The silver embossed mittens hanging there from that pretty bow are a warm and fabulous detail.
Thank you for playing with us at RETRO RUBBER.
Stay healthy and safe.
