Sometimes it’s a nice change of pace to create something besides a card. The current challenge over at Cut It Up! (#212) is asking for a Thanksgiving or autumn themed box or bag, so I pulled out the instructions for making this wide, narrow box. It was designed to hold tealight candles. *important note – it is also the perfect size for several different candy bars!
I used a stamp/die set I just recently got from Pink and Main. After stamping I colored the image with Copic markers. I used some patterned paper from Stampin’ Up. I thought it looked a little plain so I tied it shut with some gold thread.
I would also like to enter the following challenges:
Paper Players #515 – theme challenge / Thanksgiving and fall photo
Sunday Stamps (#243) – Fall Leaves Color Photo
Country View Challenges – Anything but a card
I agree! it’s fun to create something other than a card. I’m glad you enjoyed the challenge!
Your box is totally gorgeous. I love the autumn colors and that adorable bluebird. The gold thread really sets the whole thing off! Thanks for joining us at Cut it Up for our Thanksgiving Box or Bag challenge!
