I think Halloween is by far my favorite holiday to make cards for, so that’s what I went with for the two challenges starting today – one at Always Fun (#183) with a theme of “pumpkins” and the other at Double Trouble (#68) with a challenge of creating a tall and skinny (or “slimline) card.
To join in at Double Trouble Thing 1 is asking for a tall and skinny card, which is the only requirement, but to go a step further (and get an extra chance in the random drawing) you can include a tail on your card. To get even another chance share your card at one of the previous partners challenges. Visit the blog site for some other ideas from the design team and the other details.
I used a pumpkin stamp from Hampton Art and water colored it with Zig markers. The cat is a stamp from Lil’ Inker Designs, which I believe has closed their website. I also used several new slimline die cuts for the frame and background piece. I have really enjoyed the newer card size which has forced me to purchase many new slimline sized necessities!
I would like to enter my card in these additional challenges:
Thing 2 previous partner – Crafting Happiness – theme of Anything Goes
The House That Stamps Built (#S920) – Tic Tac Toe board (I did the diagonal and used twine for the bows, a slimline card, and dimension to pop up the cat)
Hand Stamped Sentiments (#349) – photo inspiration
Shopping Our Stash (#430) – Slimline Card
Krafty Chicks (#527) – Stamp Act
If You Give a Crafter A Cookie (#152) – photo – a stack of pumpkin cookies, the stacked pumpkins on my card are how these cookies looked in their earliest stage!
I love this – being a black cat person too I especially love that cat! thanks for sharing with us at HSS this week.
Love your window layout, die cut frames, and papers you used on your cute Halloween card. Me too, I like the flexibility of the tall and slim card and I haven’t started my purchase some of the dies yet but will experiment on lengthening them first like Donna gave a link to.
Love your concept, Melanie! The pumpkins along with the black cat are perfect for Halloween!
Cute card, Melanie! I love all the interest and texture on it!
Wonderful Halloween card. Love the neutral background, makes the pumpkins pop! Thanks for joining us this week at Krafty Chicks Challenge.
I especially like the way you mixed the patterned papers, Melanie! A real eye-catcher.

I too also need to make more slimline cards. Love how you combined the teal border with the pumpkins. to create an elegant Halloween card. So glad you were inspired to join us at Hand Stamped Sentiments.
I really, really like this card! The pumpkins with just the one single cat is brilliant and the choice of patterned paper is perfect! Thanks for joining us at Hand Stamped Sentiments!!
