Ready for some trouble? The new challenge is up at the Double Trouble Challenge blog. Thing 1 is asking that your card is for a guy, which is the only requirement needed to enter the challenge. If you want to try for Thing 3’s additional challenge, then you should also include something round on your card.
I made the background of my card by covering a piece of card stock with gold and silver gilding flakes. I then dry embossed it and rubbed a Stazon ink pad over the raised areas to create the distressed metal look. The gears are from a Tim Holtz set.
As with all of the challenges at Double Trouble, there is a partner challenge site that you can enter your card at. This time the partner is Use Your Stuff. They have also have a theme of a masculine card (or Father’s Day).
I would also like to enter my card in the following challenges:
Cut It Up! #201 – “Boys will be boys”
Krafty Chicks #509 – All Occasions
Spectacular card, Melanie! I really like the mix of silver and gold flakes for the background.
I have used flakes before but have not yet included them in my stash… I may have to do that. Very nice technique and handsome card.
Hi Melanie! Here with my Design Team Cap on today for the Cut It Up! Challenge! I love that you used the gears, which follows right along with the steam-punk-ish theme most of the DT used! The background you used with the silhouette is fantastic and really pulls off the mechanical feel! Nice job!
Great technique to create the background – love those gears!
Awesome card, Melanie! I’ve never used those flakes on a card! They gave a really cool look 🙂
Very cool masculine card!! Thanks for joining us at Krafty Chicks this week xoxoox
Your background looks amazing! I like your masculine card with all the gears! I went with gears on my card too! I’m thrilled to be a Crazy Cousin this month!
This is a great card! I love the masculine textures and layers! Thanks for playing along with us at USE YOUR STUFF and hope to see you again.
