I think inlaid die cuts have such a neat look, and when I saw several challenges that required stars I thought of this cover die right away. One thing nice about this one is that all the stars are the same size so you can inlay them anywhere!
I started with a piece of white glitter paper and die cut that with the cover die, then did the same on a piece of red. I glued the white to a blue card base, then used the red stars to fill in all the spaces. I cut the graduation cap by measuring out a diamond shape, added a little rounded piece underneath, along with a tassel. Other than adding the sentiment that’s about all there was to this card!
I would like to enter it into the following challenges:
Cut it Up! # 200 – Shoot for the stars!
The Card Concept #135 – Red, White, and Blue
Watercooler Wednesday #271 – All About Occasions
Great Congrats card! The sparkly white background looks awesome with the red stars and mortarboard! Thanks for joining the Cut It Up, “Shoot for the Stars” Challenge.
Awesome graduation card — I love the sparkly white background!! Thanks for playing along at The Card Concept this week!
Thanks for joining us at Cut it Up for our Shoot for the Stars challenge! Your card is so festive and clean! I love the inlaid look and agree that it’s so much easier when all the shapes are the same size; symmetry is important, too, so you don’t have to rotate them in all directions to see how they fit!
